Introduction
The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board conducted
the TGRTC MST exam on 29 March 2026 in the afternoon session from 2:30
PM to 5:30 PM. As per the official information available, around 4,817
candidates appeared for this session.
In this post, I am sharing my personal analysis of the
exam, based on my understanding of the question paper and feedback
collected from candidates who attended the exam. This is not an official
report, but a practical observation that may help you understand the difficulty
level, competition, and expected cutoff trends.
Overall Difficulty – As Per My Analysis
As per my analysis, the overall paper can be categorised as moderate.
Now, when I say moderate, I don’t mean that the questions
were very difficult or conceptually complex. In fact, most of the questions
were quite basic, standard, and familiar to candidates who have prepared
well.
However, the main issue in this paper was time
consumption.
Many questions, especially in certain sections, required
more time to:
- Read
carefully
- Understand
properly
- Solve
step-by-step
So even though the questions were easy in nature, they were
not something that could be answered instantly. Candidates had to spend a bit
more time on each question, which created pressure during the exam.
Because of this, many candidates might have felt that the
paper was slightly lengthy. So overall, I would clearly say:
The paper was moderate mainly because it was
time-consuming, not because it was tough.
Section-wise Analysis (My View)
Supervisor Aptitude
Coming to Supervisor Aptitude, in my view, this section was moderate.
The questions in this section required:
- Logical
thinking
- Step-by-step
problem-solving
- Careful
reading and interpretation
Even though the concepts were not very difficult, the time
required to solve each question was comparatively higher. Many candidates might
have spent more time in this section than expected.
Some questions needed a proper understanding before solving,
which slowed down the overall speed. Because of this, candidates who were not
careful with time management may have faced difficulty completing the paper.
So I feel this section was slightly time-consuming,
and it played an important role in affecting the total attempt.
Engineering Aptitude
Now, coming to Engineering Aptitude.
As per my analysis, this section was easy.
Most of the questions were:
- Based
on basic concepts
- Straightforward
in nature
- Not
lengthy or complicated
There were no highly advanced or tricky questions.
Candidates who have a clear understanding of fundamentals could answer most of
the questions without much difficulty.
In my opinion, this section would have been a major
scoring area for many candidates. Those who prepared the basics properly
could gain good marks here with less time.
Numerical Aptitude
Numerical Aptitude was also easy, as per my
observation.
The questions were:
- Standard
in nature
- Mostly
formula-based
- Simple
to calculate
There were no complicated or tricky problems. Candidates
with regular practice in arithmetic and quantitative aptitude could solve these
questions quickly.
This section was definitely one of the most scoring
sections in the entire paper, and it also helped in saving time for other
sections.
English
Coming to English, it was easy.
The questions included:
- Basic
grammar
- Simple
comprehension
- Common
usage questions
There was no difficult vocabulary or lengthy passages. Even
candidates with average preparation in English could attempt most of the
questions without much trouble.
This section was straightforward and did not consume much
time.
General Knowledge (GK)
The GK section was also easy.
- Questions
were from general topics
- Mostly
standard and expected areas
- No
confusing or unexpected questions
Candidates who have basic awareness of general knowledge
could answer these questions comfortably. This section was also less
time-consuming compared to others.
One Important Observation
One important thing I want to share based on my analysis…
Even though most sections were easy, the real challenge
in this paper was time management.
Many candidates may have started the exam confidently
because the questions looked easy. But as the exam progressed, they might have realised
that they were spending more time on each question.
If a candidate spent too much time on Supervisor Aptitude or
any single section, it would become difficult to complete the entire paper.
So I strongly feel that candidates who:
- Maintained
a good speed
- Avoided
spending too much time on one question
- Attempted
easier questions first
- Balanced
all sections properly
…would have performed better in this exam.
Time management, along with accuracy, was the key
deciding factor in this paper.
Competition Level
As per the data shared by the Telangana State Level Police
Recruitment Board, around 4,817 candidates appeared for the exam.
As per my understanding, this number indicates a moderate
level of competition.
It is not extremely high compared to large-scale competitive
exams, but still, the competition cannot be taken lightly.
One important factor here is that the paper had multiple easy
and scoring sections, which means many candidates might have scored well.
Because of this, even a small difference in marks can affect the final ranking.
So the competition is not just about the number of
candidates, but also about how well candidates performed in scoring sections.
Expected Cutoff Marks – As Per My Analysis
Now coming to the expected cutoff marks…
Based on:
- Difficulty
level of the paper
- Number
of candidates who appeared
- Overall
nature of questions
- Feedback
from candidates
I am estimating the cutoff range as follows:
- OC
(Open Category): 120 – 130
- BC
(Backwards Classes): 100 – 115
- SC
(Scheduled Castes): 90 – 100
- ST
(Scheduled Tribes): 80 – 90
Important Note
I want to clearly mention one thing…
These cutoff marks are not official. These are purely
based on my personal analysis and understanding of the exam pattern.
The actual cutoff may vary depending on:
- Overall
performance of candidates
- Final
evaluation process
- Category-wise
vacancies
- Any
normalisation (if applied)
So there may be slight variations in the final result.
Conclusion
Finally, as per my overall analysis:
- The
paper was moderate in difficulty
- The
difficulty was not great, but time consumption was the main challenge
- The
engineering and Numerical sections were easy and scoring
- English
and GK were also easy and manageable
- Supervisor
Aptitude required more time and attention
Candidates who managed their time properly and maintained
good accuracy are likely to get a decent score.
Overall, this was a well-balanced paper where success
depended more on time management and smart attempts rather than just
knowledge.
